Lucy Cape

The Lucy Cape is an slightly intermediate project. So if you already have some knitting experience or would like to learn some new techniques, you are at the right place. The Cape is knitted from the top down in Half Fisherman’s Rib, with double increases left and right from the shoulder line. To achieve a good fit, the body will initially be knitted flat before it is closed to the round. When the Cape covers the upper side of your shoulders, it will be knitted without increases until the desired length is reached. The yoke will then be knitted by picking up stitches from the neckline.
The Lucy Cape is available in 4 sizes. Each size corresponds to your bust circumference including your arms. It is important to position the measuring tape around your arms at the height of your bust (or the widest point the Cape should cover), only then the right size can be determined.

Front Length: 32 cm/12.5” with yoke, 26 cm/10” without yoke
The Half Fisherman’s Rib is very flexible, that means if you are between two sizes you can choose if you would like to wear the Cape body-fitting or rather more relaxed.
Recommended yarn:
150 (150) 150 (200) g Cool Wool Baby by Lana Grossa (100% Pure Wool; Nd 2,5-3 mm; 50g = 220m) together with
75 (75) 100 (100) g Setasuri by Lana Grossa (69% Alpaca, 31% Silk; Nd 3,5-4 mm, 25g = 212m)
OR
150 (150) 150 (200) g Arwetta by Filcolana (80% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Nylon; Nd 2,5-3 mm; 50g = 210m) together with
75 (75) 100 (100) g Midnatssol by CamaRose (54% Baby Alpaca, 36% Tencel, 10% Merinould; Nd 3-4 mm, 25g = 200m)
or any other yarn combination that fits the gauge. The Cape will be knitted with one strand of each yarn quality from the corresponding combination held together.
Needed needles:
Cool Wool Baby/Setasuri: Circular needles 3.5 mm/US 4 (50-120 cm, 20-47”), double pointed needles 3 mm/US 2.5 (Kragen)
Arwetta/Midnatssol: Circular needles 3 mm/US 2.5 (50-120 cm, 20-47”), double pointed needles 2.5 mm/US 1.5 (Collar)
Gauge:
Half Fisherman’s Rib body: 20 sts x 20 R (10 cm x 10 cm/4”) on Nd 3.5 mm/US 4 using Cool Wool Baby/Setasuri; Nd 3 mm/US 2.5 using Arwetta/Midnatssol
Half Fisherman’s Rib collar: 24 sts x 24 R (10 cm x 10 cm/4”) on Nd 3 mm/US 2.5 using g Cool Wool Baby/Setasuri; Nd 2.5 mm/US 1.5 using Arwetta/Midnatssol
Each gauge is measured after blocking without stretching. If necessary, please adjust the needle size.
