Merle Tee

The Merle Tee is a top-down shirt with a drop shoulder construction and a boxy fit. First, the back and both fronts are knitted in rows, with german short row shaping for a better fit around the shoulders. All parts are joined in the round below the armholes and the textured stripes will be worked using a combination of stockinette and purl stitches. A curved folded hem gives the tee a sporty finish which again incorporates german short rows. The drop-shoulder sleeves with textured stripes and folded hem will be added by picking up stitches along the armhole. The folded neckline will be added last by picking up stitches around the neck.

The Merle Tee is designed to have a positive ease of 8-17 cm. Each size corresponds to your bust circumference or the widest part of your upper body. In the pictures the person is wearing the top in size 2 with a positive ease of 13 cm and a bust circumference of 89 cm.
 
Important: Sizes 6-9 have not been testknitted due to the lack of finding testknitters. Measurements and yarn consumption are only calculated so far. If you want to testknit one of the mentioned sizes, please contact me via knitting.deer@mail.de
 
 
Recommended yarn:

350 (350) 400 || (450) 500 (550) || 550 (600) 650 g Summerlite dk by Rowan (100% cotton; Nd. 3,75 mm; 50g = 130m) in the main colour
 
50 (50) 50 || (50) 50 (50) || 50 (50) 50 g Summerlite dk by Rowan for the contrast stripes
 
or any other yarn quality that fits the gauge (e.g. Mandarin Naturell by Sandnes)
 
 
Needed needles:

Circular needles 3,5 mm/US 4 (60-100 cm, body), circular needle with Magic-Loop-Method/double pointed needles 3,5 mm/US 4 (sleeves), circular needles 3 mm/US 2.5 (40 cm, folded hem)
 
Additionally: stitch markers, tapestry needles, measuring tape
 
 
Gauge:

21,5 sts x 31 R (10 cm x 10 cm/4 x 4”) on 3,5 mm/US 4 needles in stockinette
 
Measured after blocking, flat, without stretching. If necessary, please adjust the needle size.
